Call for Abstracts for ASDD SIG Events at ABCT 2019

The Autism Spectrum and Developmental Disabilities (ASDD) SIG is pleased to announce our annual call for abstracts, which will be considered for TWO exciting opportunities: the annual ABCT SIG poster competition and the ASDD SIG pre-conference meeting!

Submissions accepted as posters will be presented at the SIG Exposition and Opening Cocktail Party on Friday, November 22, 2019. The lead author of the top rated abstract will be invited to present a brief talk at our pre-conference meeting on Thursday, November 21, 2019.

To submit, please email the following information in a Word document to Karina Silva (ksilva@fiu.edu) by August 16, 2019:

– Title of presentation

– Authors* and institutional affiliations

– Conflicts of interest for authors

– Abstract (250 word maximum)

*Please confirm in your email message that the presenting author is an ABCT ASDD SIG member (required for submission). It is easy to become a member – simply contact our SIG leaders, Drs. Brenna Maddox (maddoxb@upenn.edu) and Karen Bearss (kbearss@uw.edu) to express interest.

We prioritize content drawing on cognitive, behavioral, and naturalistic/developmental traditions for AS/DD populations. For research submissions, data-based projects are preferred, although we will review submissions with data collection underway. Clinically oriented submissions should focus on topics related to CBT practice with ASDD populations; relevant dissemination and theoretically oriented presentations are also encouraged. All abstract submissions will undergo a masked review by two members of the Conference Planning Committee.

As a reminder, please plan your travel to make it to the pre-conference meeting (Thursday afternoon, 11/21/19). We are very excited to announce that this year’s pre-conference meeting will be held at the Marcus Autism Center! Stay tuned for more details.

We look forward to receiving your abstract submissions!

Thank you,

ASDD SIG Conference Planning Committee
